The incredibly comprehensive wine list (with a focus on the Bordeaux Côtes, but running to over ten pages) epitomises what makes this place so special. The fresh ingredients are cooked in a way that makes you think they care about the taste above all else. Regularly cited as one of the world's best bistros, this is archetypal France – red-and-white checked table cloth, vegetables artfully arranged, meats roasting over an open fire, and more often than not, owner Jean-Pierre Xiradakis doing the cooking. They do seem to be gently shifting the prices of most dishes upwards though, so don’t expect usual bistro prices.
Useful information: Menus: €16 (lunch during the week, Saturday €32, no menu Sunday lunch), and from €60. (dinner).
