Château Luchey-Halde

Recently renovated by the charming Jean Magne, this makes a good architectural visit, as there is a successful mix of ancient and modern styles both in the château and in the vinification areas. The very attractive circular vat room is filled with stainless steel tanks, and provides a great contrast to the dramatically lit barrel cellar – and a new tasting room has just opened. Despite having history as a vineyard dating back to the Middle Ages, the vines here are just eight years old, having been completely replanted in 1999. Luchey-Halde aims to become a showcase for technical advances in viticulture and oenology, so feel free to ask lots of questions. There is a new reception room since 2008 that can hold up to 300 people, and has a wonderful view over the vineyards

Useful information: Visit and tasting are free, Monday to Friday 09.00-18.00. Reservation essential. Groups welcome (maximum 30 people).
