Just on the limit of the city of Bordeaux, in La Taillan Médoc, this is a Cru Bourgeois wine, with a highly impressive building that is classed as an historic monument. Friendly and informative visit of 17th century vaulted cellars and the extensive grounds, often by a member of the Cruse-Falcy family. As with an increasing number of châteaux, who are wising up to the seemingly self-evident fact that if you visit somewhere, you might like to take away a bottle of wine as a momento, there is now a small boutique to finish your visit.

Useful information: Open daily without appointment Monday to Saturday 10.00-18.00 (to 16.00 on Saturdays), and on Sundays in summer. €5 per person. The Gourmet Tour includes a tasting of two wines, plus cheese, and costs €10. Groups possible (maximum 25). English spoken. Dinners are offered also, for €150 per person, with at least four wines, including older vintages, plus casual lunches for a more affordable €36.
