The Médoc Marathon

Run every September - in 2009 they celebrated the 25th edition - this is known as the ‘longest marathon in the world’ because runners tend to weave from side to side of the road after one too many stops at prestigious châteaux along the way. The atmosphere is always light-hearted,with plenty of runners in fancy dress, and all estates, lay out glasses of their finest along the route.
