Without question one of the most beautiful properties in the whole of Bordeaux, the renovation works are now finished and the stunning new subterranean cellars and visitor centre are open. The architect for the project was Alain Triaud, and he has ensured use of low-impact techniques such as gravity-feeding of the grapes, peristaltic pumps and manual punching down of the cap during fermentation. And don’t worry – after the installation of the new underground cellars, the reflective pool for which the château is so renowned has been replaced in exactly the same position as before. The tour includes a visit of the chai and tasting of three wines (first and second wine of the property, plus Château Pibran).
Useful information: Visit and tasting Monday to Friday, by appointment only 09.00-12.30 and 14.00-17.30. Daily in summer.Price €6 for individuals, 5-8 people €5 and more than 10 people €3 per person.
