The most important grape for the wines of Pessac-Léognan. It can be difficult to ripen on cooler, damper soils and thrives on well-drained warm gravel soils.
Produces supple wines that develop earlier and complements Cabernet Sauvignon in the red wine blends.
Often called Bouchet it is a lighter and less intense version of Cabernet Sauvignon, this grape gives the wines finesse.
Dominant grape for the best dry white wines in the Pessac-Léognan.
Blended with Sauvignon Blanc, adds richness, structure and aging potential to dry whites.
