Located ten minutes south of Saint Emilion and Castillon, on the borders of Entre-Deux-Mers, Jean Daniel Debart is one of the region’s most likeable and knowledgeable producers, so be sure to corner him during your visit. There are well thought out tours both inside and out - so you can choose either to see the winery and cellars, or get out to the vineyard and the surrounding valley. All is aimed squarely at families, from touches like soft drinks while you're waiting and a small boutique with children's toys. All vineyard and cellar work has been photographed during the year, so you don’t just get explanations, but clear ‘show and tell’ of how to prune, green harvest and so on. You will also see far reaching views of the Gamage Valley. Weddings and receptions can be held in a beautiful reception area. See also ‘Places to Stay’.

Useful information: Visitors welcome for a free tour and tasting, Monday to Friday, 11.00-19.00; weekends by appointment (daily in July and August). The family tour is €4 for adults, €3 for children and €12 for family of two adults and two children. Called Secrets of the Valley, it is laid out as an assault course through the valley, with clues to follow along the way, and picnic baskets available (or you can bring your own). There is also the possibility of a tasting of grape juice and games that allow children to win small prizes. Nuits Magiques were introduced in 2009, with night tours, music and other events over the summer months. English spoken.
