This 40ha Côtes de Castillon estate is owned by Canon La Gaffelière’s Stephan de Neipperg (one of Bordeaux’s most dapper dressers and now also part owner of Sauternes’ Château Guiraud). Not exactly the easiest château to locate, but you drive though some spectacular scenery on the way, and arrive at a picturesque if part-ruined 'maison forte' or fortified farm, in the grounds of a gorgeous enormous estate. This is a lovely wine, round and succulent with full ripe fruit. Château Canon La Gaffelière and other Neipperg properties are also open for visits.

Useful information: Tour and tasting by appointment only, from Monday to Friday 09.00–12.00 and 14.00–17.00. There may be a charge for tasting. Closed for the month of August, and from mid-December – early-January. Tours last 90 minutes (covering the vines, vat room and cellar) and are available in English and German. Groups welcome, up to a maximum of 40.
