Château Broustet

Address: 1 Rue Saint-Marc, 33720 Barsac
Tel: 05 56 27 16 87  Fax: 05 56 27 05 93
Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 44:36:19N (44.60520)    Longitude: 0:19:22W (-0.32276)

Plenty of interesting things going on at this Barsac estate, where owner Didier Laulan is being helped by nephew Guillaume Fourcade. Among the recent changes is an opening up to wine tourism, and innovations such as ‘glass tubes’ of Sweet Broustet that give a more modern look to Sauternes (these were served during the 2010 Paris Fashion Week at the Hotel Crillon, so are clearly finding a market!). Also worth looking out for is the Blanc Sec de Chateau Broustet, a good quality dry white from AC Graves. Wines sold direct (ask for the recipes that they have prepared also, with some unusual food pairing suggestions)

Useful information: Free visit and tasting, by appointment only (also weekends and public holidays). Groups welcome (maximum of 20). English spoken.
