Château de Cérons

Address: 33720 Cérons
Tel: 05 56 27 01 13  Fax: 05 56 27 22 17
Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 44:38:7N (44.63516)    Longitude: 0:20:1W (-0.33355)

This imposing château is in the village of Cérons, just north of Barsac and Sauternes and like them a sweet wine appellation. The owner is Xavier Perromat, husband of Caroline Perromat at Haut Bailly and the property itself is a classic chartreuse (which means it has one large central room, and then rooms that mirror each other on either side). Xavier and Caroline have just fully taken over the château from his parents, and have embarked on a series of renovations, from the winery to the interior. The wines of Cérons are slightly lighter than those of Sauternes, and this has all the gorgeous oranges, lemons, cloves and honey of the more famous neighbouring appellation, but with slightly more lift and freshness at the end.

Useful information: Free visit and tasting from 09.00-12.00 and 14.00-17.30, Monday to Friday, by appointment only. English spoken. Groups welcome (maximum 20).
