Every year at Whit weekend Chalon-sur-Saône organises a hot air ballooning festival. Around a hundred balloons take off from here in a blaze of colour.

In the depths of the Burgundian winter, end of February and beginning of March, the Chalon-sur-Saône Carnival unites spectators and performers during a fantastic night-time parade with a cavalcade of colourful floats. Groups of musicians wander the streets playing music. If you are visiting at this time of year, don’t miss it!
This jazz festival has been held in Couches for the last 20 years, usually in early July. Some great jazz musicians come to play, there is a very good atmosphere and the concert tickets are reasonably priced. Highly recommended for jazz fans.
