If you turn off the main road in Ladoix and continue past the very pretty Château de Serrigny, follow the homemade wooden signs, with luck you arrive at this old hunting lodge. In a large dining room you sit at long tables and sample some of Burgundy’s best traditional cuisine. Large salads with either chicken livers or smoked duck breast, lamb or veal chops with vegetables, a succulent boeuf bourguignon. The patron (his wife is the cook) is also a wine broker supplying many of the top Parisian restaurants with fine domaine wines. Some of these are served here at derisory prices. Local folks eat here on a daily basis, and La Miotte is so tucked away that you feel it is a personal discovery.
