The Wine Auction of the Hospices de Beaune

Every year, on the third Sunday of November, the famous auction of wines from the Hospices de Beaune draws buyers and wine lovers from all over the world to taste the latest vintage. All weekend there are many tastings and other events. Amongst these, worth noting is the Exposition Générale des Vins de Bourgogne (Burgundy wine exhibition) at the Palais des Congrès with several thousand wines available for tasting. The tasting of the Hospices wines that are to be sold on Sunday afternoon, takes place in the cellar of the Hospices de Beaune, near the Hospital - an opportunity to try some very distinguished wines. On the Saturday, the Santenay winemakers organise a tasting of the wines of the current vintage - Le Grumage de Santenay.
