Champy is the oldest negoçiant in Burgundy with archives dating back to 1720. It was purchased in 1990 by the Meurgey family, who also run a brokerage business of wines from top domaines. Pierre Meurgey and his talented winemaker, Dimitri Bazas offer a wide range of well-chosen wines with emphasis on affordable village Côte de Beaune wines rather than Grand Crus. Their own estate vineyards (supplying about 40% of their total needs) will be certified organic from the 2010 vintage. The collection of archives and a museum, L’ArchOenosite, can be visited by appointment.

Useful information: Open Monday to Saturday 10.00-12.30 and 14.00-18.00. Saturday by appointment. English and German spoken. There is usually a charge for tastings. Contact Claude Dourneau to arrange a visit to l’ArchOenosite or a tasting/dinner. Closed during August and between Christmas and New Year.
