The shop and tasting room for the large Moillard négociant is right in the middle of Nuits on the main road with parking outside. Especially in the quieter months, it’s a good place for newcomers in particular to taste wines from different appellations – usually with someone knowledgeable explaining the wines. The négociant has recently been taken over by a wealthy estate in the Côte de Beaune and they are investing in the cellars here in Nuits, so that they can create a tour taking you through the winemaking process. Currently you can visit the barrel cellar, dating back to 1840. Moillard-Grivot also have a shop in centre of Beaune, 8 Place de la Halle, opposite the Hospices de Beaune.
Useful information: Open every day, all year 10.00-19.00 (18.00 in winter). Cost to taste five wines including Nuits-St-Georges village and Premier Cru is €5 refunded on purchase. English spoken.
