The Taupenot-Merme domaine is now run by Romain and Virginie, the son and daughter of Jean and the vivacious Denise. The number of appellations is impressive and includes four Grands Crus – Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères Chambertin, Corton and Clos des Lambrays. The Premier Crus are situated in Gevrey Chambertin, Morey Saint Denis, Chambolle Musigny, Nuits St-Georges, and Auxey Duresses. There are also five village appellations including a white St-Romain. The organically cultivated vines, together with low yields and careful sorting practices produce wines that are full of fruit, expressive bouquets, and gentle tannins.
