Michael Edwards has been a freelance wine and food writer and journalist, specialising in Champagne, Burgundy and gastronomy for over 20 years following a spell in the wine trade and as a hotel and restaurant critic. His most recent book The Finest Wines of Champagne featuring the best Champagne growers and houses was published in late 2009 and won the Louis Roederer award for best wine book. Michael is also the author of the best-selling The Champagne Companion: The Authoritative Conoisseur's Guide (winner of Le Prix Lanson); Mitchell Beazley’s Pocket Champagne, The Red Wine Companion and a monograph on Chablis.
