Handily between the station and the lovely white abbey of St-Philibert, chef-patron's Olivier Perrot's hotel restaurant is very good value: both in the thirteen modernized en suite bedrooms and the solid Burgundian dining room. As you'd expect in the Mâconnais, with the Ain across the Saône, ingredients like Bresse chicken, Charolais beef and the freshest river fish are first rate. Excellent wines (try Aubert de Villaine's Bourgogne Rouge La Digoine). Eat out on the terrace in summer.
Useful information: Rooms: €69; breakfast: €10.50. Note that from April – October rooms are restricted to those wishing to eat in the restaurant.
