An ideal stop for gourmets minding their dollars and dimes – a Michelin one star restaurant with very reasonable prix-fixe menus for the quality of Monsieur Carrette’s cooking: Burgundian dishes with a modern twist – little escargots in an open ravioli; sandre (zander fish) flavoured with Morvan ham; breast of roast pigeon aux gousses d’ail. There are 18 bedrooms en suite with free wi-fi, if you want to stay overnight and investigate the excellent Mâconnais and Chalonnais wine list.
