Owned by the great chef-patron Georges Blanc of Vonnas, this 1930s-style bistrot has a great view of Mâcon from the Bresse-side eastern bank of the Saône - walk across the St-Laurent bridge to get there. Good bistro cooking: terrines, casseroles, river fish, seafood. Jolly atmosphere, spot-on fast service – as you would expect in a Blanc establishment. A good choice of wines from top St-Véran and Pouilly Fuissé growers.
Useful information: Menus: €19 (weekday lunch) - €47.
