A rising star, this 6.5ha domaine sits on a hill above the village of Fuissé. Fabio Montrasi and Claire Gazeau met in Milan, got married and worked together there as architects. They then swopped city life for a grower's calling in Claire's family's estate in this lovely Arcadian setting against the dramatic backcloth of the rock of Solutré. The oldest vines, up to 100 years old, are the heart of their prestige cuvée Les Barbettes, while their most widely known wine is the Clos Varanbon. Biodynamic viticulture, masterly use of oak in the winemaking.
