Raphael Bérêche, still in his early twenties, is a rising star, whose Champagnes have been widely praised in the UK and USA. The family farms 9.5ha of Pinot and Chardonnay on the sandy, chalky soils of the western Montagne de Reims; they also have vines on the north-facing slopes of Mareuil le Port (Marne Valley) that are so suitable for more delicate styles of Meunier. The winemaking style is pure and natural, each stage of production leading the drinker to the ultimate expression of the precise territories of the grapes. The range includes crystalline, bone-dry Extra Brut and the ultra-complex Reflet d’Antan, made from a solera of 20 vintages.
