Once the most famous Champagne brand in the USA, Mumm enjoyed a renaissance of quality in the early 2000s with the arrival of a new cellarmaster, Dominique Demarville, who revitalized the flagship Cordon Rouge Cuvée and was the mastermind behind the new prestige Cuvée R. Lalou (a superb 1998). Other fine Champagnes are the all-Chardonnay Cramant de Mumm (a refined, youthful wine from a top Côte des Blancs village) and the new Grand Cru selection. The house offers four cellar tours, one for the casual visitor wanting to learn more taking about 60 minutes, and three specialised programs for serious champagne lovers taking around 90 minutes.
