Champagne Drappier

The best Champagne house in the Aube bar none, Drappier boasts a fascinating range of Champagnes to taste your way through, including Grande Sendrée Brut and Grande Sendrée Rosé, two single-vineyard Champagnes. Made from 70 year old vines, their name derives from a corruption of cendrée, the vineyard having been woodland until it was burnt down in 1838 and infused the soil with ash (gives Madeira aficionados a sense of déjà vu).

Useful information: Open for free tastings and sales Monday to Saturday except public holidays 08.00-12.00 and 14.00-18.00. Tours by appointment only. English and German spoken.
