About the contributor

Tom Fiorina

Tom Fiorina is a journalist by training. After earning his MBA in marketing, he moved to France from his native United States in 1999. Over the past 20 years he has worked in corporate communications for a number of international companies. Periodically, he escapes France, once leaving to work in Silicon Valley with Internet start-up companies (if that had worked out, he’d now be living on his estate in Tuscany) and once to Milan where he was responsible for communications in 28 countries for Europe’s largest Coca-Cola bottler. He discovered Corsica thanks to his Corsican wife and her family. Visiting the island over a period of almost 20 years has given him an appreciation for how the wines there have evolved and improved. He writes a blog, The Vine Route about French wine and winemakers. In June 2012 he received France’s highest wine diploma, the DNO (Diplôme National d’Œnologue) from the University of Toulouse. He lives near Toulouse with his wife and their three sons.
