Le Piano restaurant was in downtown Ajaccio for 20 years before relocating in 2008 to the resort village of Porticcio on the southeastern side of the Golfe d’Ajaccio. The beautiful beaches here are somewhat marred by modern holiday developments, and the road from Ajaccio to Porticcio, which passes by the Ajaccio airport is one long traffic jam in the summer. Fortunately, you can take a boat to Porticcio from Ajaccio and avoid the traffic in the summer; off season, the traffic is not a problem. The effort to get here is worth it, however, as the food is outstanding, the welcome by the owner, Toinou, is genuinely sincere and gracious, and the service is impeccable.
