Almost at the end of the closed valley, 2km from the centre of the village, this 100-year old restaurant is right next to a lovely waterfall, a short stroll to the entrance of the grottes (caves). It has a Victorian starkness about it both outside and in the dining room, reminiscent of a Scottish hunting lodge, complete with fish pictures on the wall. There is also a large terrace. A bar, also open all day in summer has been lovingly restored by the current owners with a traditional zinc-topped bar, and lots of memorabilia. Simple menus, with good local ingredients served correctly, including trout, morels and home-made tarts. Small selection of local wines.
Useful information: Menus: €15 (week day lunchtime only)-€28. Open April-October (phone to check exact dates). Closed Mondays except in July, August and public holidays. Open lunchtimes and every Friday and Saturday evening, other evenings by reservation only.
