Château d'Agel

Address: 6 Place du Château, 34210 Agel
Tel: 04 68 91 21 38
Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 43:20:17N (43.33806)    Longitude: 02:51:11E (2.85306)

The undisturbed village of Agel is a short drive from the amazing mediaeval town of Minerve and a variety of wine estates in nearby La Livinière AC. This magnificent château really is the full works with turret windows, coats of arms, twirling stones staircases and probably cobwebby secret passages too. Owners Martine Ecal-Besse and husband Jean-Marie don’t make wine here anymore, after selling off most of the vineyards; but instead have two rooms and two suites. Dinner on request and you can taste Agel’s wines in the old cellar, and the ‘new winery’ is just across the road.

Useful information: Rooms: €140-€160 including breakfast, or you can rent the entire château for €3000-€5000 per week according to season.
