The owners, originally from Lorraine (famous for its quiche and neighbour to Alsace), appear to have succeeded in injecting a little life into the somewhat dour village of Cazouls. Excellent value, and very filling, lunchtime menu for three courses including house wine; cooking includes French classics such as Blanquette de veau and the less-familiar Tarte aux quetschs (damson tart) from home turf (the desserts are made by their patissier son). They also have an outside catering company and small hotel next door.
Useful information: Menus: €11-€15 (lunch); very reasonable à la carte evenings. Restaurant closed all day Monday, and Saturday and Sunday evenings.
