A welcome addition to the burgeoning Béziers wine bar scene, le Chameau Ivre (tipsy camel) is owned by Philippe Catusse, long-standing local wine merchant. Very good wine list gives you plenty of options to accompany their inventive tapas dishes (costing around €4 each) especially as the by-the-glass selection is reasonably priced. A good stop-off to taste up-and-coming and already hot growers in the Languedoc and Roussillon, and you can also buy to take away. There's a nice terrace looking out onto the square.
Useful information: Lunch menus: €10-€15 including a glass of wine. Open Monday 14.30-23.00, Tuesday 10.00-20.00; Wednesday-Saturday 10.00-23.00. Closed all day Sunday and Monday morning.
