Established by Gilbert over 40 years ago, this 12ha domaine is run nowadays by charming Florence and son Frédéric Alquier. They make lovely rich smoky Faugères reds and a super rosé from Syrah, Mourvèdre and old Carignan and Grenache as well as an increasingly good white based on Roussanne and Marsanne (look out for the 2009). Try them in their cosy diminutive on-site tasting room, which adjoins the office at the back of their house, across the yard from the more visible new cellar.
