Previously part of the Michel Laroche wine empire (Chablis, Chile, South Africa), and now integrated into the huge (but impressive) JeanJean Languedoc-based group, this estate neatly combines Mediterranean manor with metal and glass winery and produces premium Vin de Pays d’Oc varietal wines and blends. Vineyard manager and winemaker Richard Lavanoux runs a tight ship, both on home turf and with a team of contract growers, to ensure the range delivers on all its different levels. Their best wines include La Croix Chevalière flagship red (Syrah, Cabernet, Mourvèdre and/or Merlot depending on the vintage), another red called 'Roqua Blanca', the Mas white ‘Vignoble Peyroli’ Chardonnay/Viognier blend and a very quaffable rosé too. The website features nice recipes and food & wine matching tips from Michel’s wife Gwénaël !
