Saint Bacchus - Perpignan

Annual competition culminating in a huge wine festival in late May/early June in Perpignan.

Vendanges littéraires et Rencontres vigneronnes de la Vallée de l'Agly

Long-winded title to this wine, food and literature festival that takes place on the first Saturday in October, held in marquees along les Allées Joffre in Rivesaltes town centre,with organised grape picking trips out in the vineyards.

Muscat de Noël

To celebrate the launch of the new vintage Muscat de Rivesaltes, cunningly repackaged for Christmas, there's a free 'Dégustation Découverte' usually on the last Saturday of November in Perpignan city centre. In addition, over the first weekend of December, there is a 'Spécial Muscat de Noël' in association with the Roussillon 'Toques Blanches' chefs (local equivalent of Michelin stars), who create dishes to go with youthful Muscats.

‘Les Caves se rebiffent’ (‘Wine Cellars Hit Back’) – Calce wine fair

Mid-May all day Saturday: ‘open-door’ tastings in various wine growers’ cellars dotted around the village. €5 for a tasting glass and free sampling (except the driver of course!); dinner and music available in the evening booked in advance.
