Domaine Piétri-Géraud

Address: 22 Rue Pasteur, 66190 Collioure
Tel: 04 68 82 07 42  Fax: 04 68 98 02 58
Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 42:31:37N (42.52682)    Longitude: 3:5:1E (3.08347)

Run by mother and daughter Maguy & Laetitia Piétri-Géraud, this small-scale estate makes more elegant and structured Collioure reds than some (must be the feminine touch). For example, their la Moulin de la Cortine has slightly less Grenache than the ‘easier drinking’ Sine Nomine cuvée, which has more Syrah and Mourvèdre. They also do a rare white Banyuls as well as very attractive examples of all the red styles, from the rich fruity ‘Rimage’ called Mademoiselle to sensationally complex, oxidised and toffee-like Cuvée du Soleil (aged outdoors entirely in bonbonnes - glass demijohns).

Useful information: Rue Pasteur is the address of their shop, tasting and barrel store in the heart of the old town – if you want to see winemaker Laetitia in her cramped cellar on Rue du Docteur Coste, phone in advance.
