A member of the Relais & Châteaux group, this elegant and luxurious hotel, 13km north of Angers, opened in 1991, but the château dates from the 17th century. There are large grounds to enjoy together with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and tennis courts available in summer. Its restaurant has one star in the Michelin Guide. This is just the place for a luxuriously pampered night or two.

Useful information: Rooms in the château: €175-€390; in the manor house €285-€425; breakfast: €23. Meals: €32 (lunch only) -€115. Closed Sunday and Monday October to May. Closed 15 February to 24 March and 13 November to 1 December.
