The Daviau family has been here since 1546. The estate is currently run by Christophe Daviau, who studied at Bordeaux University and then spent 18 months in Australia. Christophe has taken Bablut to new heights and the estate is now biodynamic. The standout wines include the wonderfully balanced Coteaux de l’Aubance, especially Grandpierre and Vin Noble, when conditions permit. There is also the fine series of Anjou Villages, particularly Petra Alba from limestone and Rocca Nigra from schistous soils.
