A modest and genial man Yves Guégniard makes consistently fine wines from his 36ha of vines. He is close friends with Claude Papin and Vincent Ogereau and the three are associated together with their Savennières Clos du Grand Beaupréau project. He and his wife, Marie-Annick, make the range of Anjou wines including Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and the very fine Anjou Blanc Les Pierres Girards. Daughter Anne (a trianed sommelier) and her chef husband David Guitton have now joined the business. A small new tasting room was completed in 2010, and David has opened up an excellent restaurant, La Table de la Bergerie, looking out to the vines. See 'Places to Eat'.
