Although the Baumard family has made wine here since 1634, it was oenologist Jean Baumard who established the current reputation of this pioneering and often controversial domaine. His son Florent is now in charge and was the first high quality Loire producer to opt for screw caps for his complete range of wines. There is a full range of Anjou wines made and highlights include the Clos du Papillon and Trie Spéciale from Savennières, the rich and balanced Quarts de Chaume and the very unusual Vert de l’Or, a Vin de Table made from Verdelho.
Useful information: Open Monday to Saturday 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-17.30. English spoken.
