Jacky and Joëlle Blot started in Montlouis in 1989, although Jacky was already in the wine business as a négociant in Tours at the evocatively named – Rue Serpent Volant. They have rapidly established themselves among the Loire’s top producers – firstly in Montlouis, then in Vouvray and, in 2002, in Bourgueil with the Domaine de la Butte. The whole range of wines is happily recommended with the standouts being Remus (a dry Montlouis), Romulus (Montlouis moelleux), Mi-Pente (Bourgeuil) and Triple Zero (Montlouis pétillant).
Useful information: Open every day except Sundays. An appointment is not essential but advisable as this is understandably a popular domaine to visit.
