Jean-François Merieau, Vignobles des Bois Vaudons

Address: 30 Route de la Vallée, 41400 Saint Julien de Chedon
Tel: 02 54 32 14 23
Geo-coordinates:  Latitude: 47:19:45N (47.32911)    Longitude: 1:12:29E (1.20797)

Jean-François Merieau is one of the brightest young vignerons in Touraine (another is Vincent Ricard nearby in Thesée). He makes the customary range of AC Touraine but because the yields are both well below many other producers and Jean-François ages his wines for much longer than normal you’ll find a complexity and concentration that is unusual in straight Touraine AC wines. Well set up tasting room that includes a selection of other Loire wines and other local produce.

Useful information: Open Monday-Friday 09.00-12.30 and 14.00-18.30; Saturday 09.30-12.30 and 14.30-18.30. Sundays (not December-March) 09.30-12.30. Tasting fee: €3; Tasting with local produce: €5. Groups accepted by appointment up to 50 people. English spoken.
