An imposing château set in parkland to the north of Azay le Rideau, this is an ideal base from which to explore this region. It is impeccably run by Mr and Mrs Hubert de Chénerilles, whose ancestors built the château in 1910 as a hunting lodge. There are four stylish and elegant bedrooms and this is a splendid place to stay and relax – it is a pity that the season here is so short. There is also 3-bedroom gîte available in the château, available from May to September inclusive.
Useful information: Rooms: €90-€110 including breakfast. Open July and August plus weekends only in May and June. Very good English spoken.
