Chinon: les Vignerons dans la ville (Chinon Wine Fair)

Chinon’s annual wine fair is an opportunity to discover the latest vintage along with music as well as various other stalls selling crafts and regional food specialties. In the evening some restaurants hold special wine and food matching events with the vignerons. Usually held in mid-April.

Le Marché Médiéval de Chinon (Chinon’s medieval market)

Held on a Saturday at the beginning of August, the old centre of Chinon is transformed into a medieval market with plentiful wine tasting/drinking opportunities. It starts at 9am in the morning and there are parades, all sorts of stalls – crafts, regional specialities etc – with music and fireworks to follow finishing at around 1am on Sunday morning.

 

La Grande Tablée (Saumur Champigny)

Held in the centre of Saumur on two consecutive evenings in early August, La Grande Tablée is a big picnic organised by the producers of Saumur Champigny. Plenty of opportunities to taste Saumur Champigny and other local products such as fouées and mushrooms.

Vignes, Vins et Randos

Annual weekend in early September of walking in the vineyard in the company of the vignerons with organized throughout the Loire from Nantes. In this micro-region there are walks in Chinon and Saumur Champigny.

 

Marché des Vins de Saumur

Programme of tasting and an auction of old vintages of Saumur wines held usually over the first weekend of September.
