The Neau family have been vignerons for eight generations and Régis and Elisabeth Neau now have 84ha of vines – 45ha of Cabernet Franc, 38ha of Chenin Blanc and 1ha of Chardonnay. The Chardonnay goes into the blend of their very good Crémant de Loire. Over the last decade the range of wines has been extended considerably to include three top cuvées: Les Loups Noirs (powerful and concentrated Saumur Champigny), Les Loups Blancs (Saumur Blanc partly fermented in new oak) and Les Loups Dorées (Coteaux du Saumur). The Clos des Châtains from old vines remains a reference for good value Saumur Champigny.
