This restaurant is situated in the middle of nowhere on the D17 about 4km from Fontvieille towards Arles. There is a tall gateway on the left, with a discrete blackboard to the side of the gate. The gateway appears to lead nowhere, with a dirt path disappearing in the middle of a large expanse of scrub, which is actually part of a taureau (bull) farm. The small restaurant is well hidden, in the middle of a dense grove of trees. Service is friendly, there is a short but well chosen wine list, and an excellent small menu, specialising in grills, but featuring dishes such as foie gras, red mullet fillets, and other delicacies, depending on the season. The tables are outside under the trees in the summer, in very attractive surroundings. Beware of mosquitoes in the autumn!
Useful information: Menus €25-€45. Open Wednesday-Sunday lunchtimes; Friday and Saturday evenings (reservations essential). Phone beforehand to be sure that they are open. Closed January to early March.
