Unfortunately many hotels in this region lack the smartness and quality visitors might like. Successful summer seasons result in a lack of incentive to renovate many hotels – cheap and proximity to the beach being the determining factor for attracting families for the summer. Campsites and self catering accommodation abound and on the whole a better welcome seems more assured at some of the better quality chambres d’hôtes (bed and breakfasts).
