Although there are some excellent grand hotels in the area, Provence is not, on the whole, traditional hotel territory and during the winter months (November to March) this is particularly bad, with many hotels closed. The vast majority of visitors own second homes, or stay in one of the many rented villas or chambres d’hôtes listed through the local tourist offices or with their own websites
