This small wine domaine of 15ha has run a family restaurant since the early 1990s, and while during the summer months it is likely to be over-ridden by tourists, the rest of the year it is patronised by local businessmen, workers and the odd wine taster. The basic three course menu provided a salad, daube (stew) with rice or mussels and chips, and finished with a chocolate cake and crème anglaise (custard), all served in a convivial atmosphere around the open fire and with long tables filled with lively clients. More expensive menus are grander. The wine is all from the domaine. La Motte was the first village to be freed by the Allies on 15 August 1944.
