This grape prefers temperate climatic conditions and thrives on the granite slopes here. An early-ripener that gives wines with strong colour, perfumed and spicy flavours with good structure.
Capricious grape with low yields and uneven ripening, it produces wines with aromas of blossom, ripe pears and apricots. Alcohol levels are potentially quite high.
Attributes elegant and delicate characteristics to a blend with good acidity too. Suits oak ageing.
Makes powerful wines with relatively low acidity. This rustic grape flourishes on the hot, rocky slopes.
