The only real option if you want to stay in Tain since the sad demise of Reynaud. It is a typical modern chain type hotel (it was a Mercure) in the main street in Tain. The rooms are large and have double glazing and air conditioning. If you ask for a room at the back overlooking the swimming pool then it will be quieter and may have a balcony and view of the hill of Hermitage. There is private parking and the staff are friendly. The restaurant, Le Sud is adequate (a long standard menu implies lots of short cuts) but the wine list is poor and restricted to the basic négociant wines.

Useful information: Rooms €96-€101; breakfast €11. Menus €12.90-€22.90.
