A really excellent restaurant that is far better than the one star it has from Michelin. Michel Chabran is a very good chef and nowadays is always present in the kitchen. This is a restaurant used by locals for family celebrations and is often booked up even mid-week. You can have the 12 course truffle menu for €220 or the tasting menu at €159 euros but you can also eat well on the lesser-priced menus. The food is imaginative but not over complicated and you get offered lots of additional tastes even on the cheaper menus. The wine list is strong in the northern Rhône as expected, with La Chapelle back to 1961 and there is also a good range of Burgundies including older vintages. It has a particularly good list of magnums reflecting the number of parties that eat here.

Useful information: Menus €35-€99. Closed Wednesdays, Thursday lunchtimes and Sunday evenings.
